From the dear comes grief; From the dear comes fear. If you're freed from the dear You'll have no grief, let alone fear.

About This Quote

This is a very interesting story. There was a woman, who had been married to a man for years. She was devoted to him, and though he never mistreated her, she was afraid for him at night. She would see that he had gone to bed in good spirits, but then in the middle of the night she heard terrible noises in his room.

Her husband was choking her. She ran out of her house and called for help, but no one would believe her. Afterward, however, when she had calmed down, she thought about it some more and realized that she must have seen something during the night that didn’t convince her at first.

Then she remembered having heard some strange noises while lying in bed (she must have been awake at the time), and she resolved to make sure that they did not come true. The following night she heard them again; this time they came from underneath the bed; but instead of doing anything, she got up and pulled out the bed’s footboard so that the noises could stay under there forever. They did not come out again .
